Itinerary

Day 1Sacred Valley of the Incas

Your Cusco adventure begins at 6:30 AM, as we depart from Cusco for the full-day Sacred Valley of the Incas tour. Our first stop will be Chinchero, a charming village famed for its weavings and terraced Inca ruins. You will delve into the local Andean culture, while also savoring breathtaking mountain views.

We will then journey to Moray, where you will marvel at the circular terraced depressions, an intriguing testament to the Incas’ advanced agricultural techniques. Following Moray, our trail will lead to Maras, where salt pans speckle the hillside, each one reflecting the sky in its crystalline surface.

As lunchtime approaches, we will stop at Urubamba for a delicious buffet, offering an array of local cuisine for you to sample. Next, we will visit Ollantaytambo, an ancient Inca fortress and town, with its impressive stone terraces stretching up the mountain slopes.

Finally, around 16:30 PM, we will reach Pisac, the last stop of the day. Here, you will explore its vibrant market and imposing Inca ruins before we return to Cusco. This memorable day will cover around 70 miles (approximately 113 kilometers), immersing you in the rich history and culture of the Incas. Day 2Full Day Machu Picchu Tour from Cusco

Our second day in the Cusco Travel Packages commences early, as we set off from Cusco to Ollantaytambo at 5:20 AM. From here, you’ll take the expedition train 7:45 am. ride through the sacred Urubamba River Valley to Aguas Calientes, the town at the base of Machu Picchu. This scenic journey will span approximately 58 miles (around 93 kilometers).

Upon arriving in Aguas Calientes around 9:15 AM, we’ll board a bus to ascend to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Situated at an altitude of 7,972 feet (2,430 meters), this UNESCO World Heritage Site will take your breath away. We’ll embark on a two-hour guided tour, uncovering the mysteries of this ancient Inca city.

After the tour, adventurous travelers will have the option to hike Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayna Picchu Mountain. Note that permits are required for these hikes, often selling out months in advance due to their popularity. Both hikes offer incredible views, but do consider that they present a moderate to high level of difficulty.

We will then descend to Aguas Calientes around 14:00 PM, giving you some free time to explore the town then will take the expedition train 16:22 pm back to Ollantaytambo. From there, we’ll drive back to Cusco, wrapping up our second day around 20:00 PM.

  • You will cover a total distance of approximately 130 miles (about 209 kilometers) during the round trip from Cusco to Machu Picchu.
  • The highest altitude reached will be at Machu Picchu, at 7,972 feet (2,430 meters) above sea level.

Day 3Full Day Lake Humantay Trek

The third day of our Cusco Travel Packages will begin at 4:00 AM, when we’ll depart Cusco for a full day tour to Humantay Lake. After a two hours drive, we will arrive in Mollepata, a small district sitting at 9,200 feet (about 2,800 meters) above sea level. Here, you will have the chance to fuel up with a hearty breakfast before to continue by car for 1 hour more to Soraypampa station the point of the begening for the hiking

Around 9:30 AM, we’ll embark on the hike towards the mesmerizing Humantay Lake. This trail, covering roughly 2 miles (approximately 3.2 kilometers), will take us to an altitude of 13,779 feet (about 4,200 meters). The moderately challenging hike will reward you with the sight of the turquoise waters of Humantay Lake, nestled between snow-capped peaks.

You’ll have ample time to take in the views, snap some photos, and even participate in a traditional Andean ceremony if you wish. We will then hike back down to Soraypampa then return by car to Mollepata, where a well-deserved buffet lunch will be waiting.

We will return to Cusco around 6:00 PM, concluding a day filled with natural beauty and Andean culture.

Day 4Full Day Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain Trek

The grand finale of our four-day Cusco Travel Packages arrives with a full-day tour to the breathtaking Rainbow Mountain, also known as Vinicunca. We’ll depart from Cusco at 4:00 AM, driving towards the district of Cusipata. After about a 1 hour and half drive, we’ll arrive and energize ourselves with a nutritious breakfast, then continue the tour for 1 hour to beginning of the hiking where our guide will explain about the plan and itinerary for the route.

Starting the hike around 9:00 AM, you will ascend on a trail that stretches approximately 3 miles (roughly 4.8 kilometers). The journey to the summit, standing at a staggering 17,060 feet (about 5,200 meters) above sea level, can be quite challenging due to the high altitude. However, your efforts will be rewarded with the surreal sight of the Rainbow Mountain’s vibrant stripes, a unique geological formation.

You’ll have time to marvel at the view, capture some unforgettable photos, and breathe in the fresh Andean air. Following our descent for the same route until the restaurant, will have a fulfilling lunch in Cusipata

We will return to Cusco around 4:00 PM, concluding our unforgettable four-day Cusco Travel Packages.
