Day 1Cusco - Pisac - Urubamba - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes

Your remarkable Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu tour commences in the heart of the Inca Empire, Cusco. We will pick you up from your hotel at 7 am. From there, we’ll embark on an adventure packed with awe-inspiring sights and deep historical significance. 

As we depart Cusco, the first stop on this journey is Pisac. You will explore its ancient Inca ruins, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the valley.

From Pisac, the tour transitions into the vibrant town of Urubamba, where we’ll arrive at approximately 12:30 pm. Here, you’ll enjoy a delightful buffet lunch and a brief respite before we continue our journey to Ollantaytambo. This charming town is home to a stunning Inca fortress and vast fields of corn and quinoa.

At 3 pm, we will set off from Ollantaytambo for Aguas Calientes by train. The journey takes you winding through the scenic landscape of mountains and forests. Arrival in Aguas Calientes will be around 5:30 pm. 

This town is known as the gateway to Machu Picchu. Here you’ll rest and prepare for the exciting exploration of the Inca citadel the following day. You will spend the night at a hotel in Aguas Calientes. Here, you can reminisce about the wonder of the Sacred Valley and anticipate your visit to Machu Picchu.

Day 2Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

On the second day of your Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu tour, you’ll rise early. Breakfast will be served in the hotel at 5 am. After breakfast, we will head to the bus station for a short ride up the steep zigzagging road to Machu Picchu. 

We will be reaching the entrance of Machu Picchu around 6 am. As the sun slowly rises over the majestic mountains, the timeless beauty of the Inca citadel will come into view. This is truly an unforgettable sight.

Machu Picchu Guided Tour:

You will then embark on a guided tour of the ancient city. You will explore its unique architecture and gain fascinating insights into the history and culture of the Incas. A tour in Machu Picchu is a journey back in time to the world of the Incas. 

It offers a unique chance to explore the breathtakingly beautiful and remarkably preserved ancient citadel nestled high in the Andean mountains. The tour is not just a visual feast but also an educational adventure. Our knowledgeable guides will provide deep insights into the history, culture, and architecture of the Incas

After the tour, you will have some free time to explore the site at your own pace. If you’re up for an additional challenge, you can opt to hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. They offer panoramic views of the citadel and the surrounding lush, green landscapes.

If you wish to hike to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain, please let us know while booking the tour. To avoid overcrowding, authorities restrict access to 400 people a day and permits are often sold out months in advance. 

Alternatively, you can hike to Sungate (Intipunku). This is the entrance point to Machu Picchu for those hiking the esteemed Inca Trail. You won’t need a permit and it is free of cost. 

At around 1 pm, we’ll head back down to Aguas Calientes for a hearty buffet lunch. Lunch on the second day of the tour is not included in the price. Then, at 2:30 pm, you will catch the train back to Ollantaytambo. 

From there, a bus will take you back to your hotel in Cusco. This concludes your two-day Machu Picchu and Sacred Valley Tour. As you rest, the memories of the tour and the amazing sights you’ve witnessed will undoubtedly linger.
